PERFORMANCE OF THE DECADE!

On October 27th 2007, after 10 years of enormously well received performances throughout Israel and around the world, Tararam presented their most exciting performance of all time, the PERFORMANCE OF THE DECADE!

The Gala event took place in the 11th hanger in the port of Tel Aviv before an enthralled audience of over 1600 fans. Among the many honoured guests present at the event were Israeli Mayors, representatives of Jewish communities throughout the Diaspora, Israeli Foreign Ministry representatives, top Israeli producers, Israeli celebrities, concert goers, friends and family.

The celebration was a wonderful tribute to the group's founder and artistic director Doron Raphaeli.

The multimedia performance was based on the best of Tararam over the past decade. Participating in the show were many guest artists who performed with the group over the years. The performance featured Leela Petronio, the renowned Parisian tap dancer from the internationally acclaimed group, "STOMP" in a duet with Itay Polishik, Tararam's veteran tap dancer.

The show was a blend of rhythm, music, movement and wit; interwoven with choreographed body drumming, live vocals and theatrical scenes as well as video art and short films that greatly enhanced the live performance. Exciting pyrotechnics, innovative laser art and fire were successfully incorporated into the production as well.

Throughout the show, the cast members moved, danced, sung and drummed in perfect harmony, as the evening ranged from being impressively dynamic to being seductively intimate.

For the encore, following Tararam's famous Volkswagen scene, in which all nine artists pop out of a bright orange Volkswagen beetle and begin ecstatically drumming on the moving car, Raphaeli took centre stage with a drum set on his shoulders and performed in sync with five video screens upon which he appeared playing a variety of different percussion instruments. The concept was innovative and the execution flawless.

Tararam would like to thank all the participants, performers, technical crew and staff who made this special concert such an enormous success.

Tararam is looking forward to a second decade of performances, which is anticipated to be even more exciting and dynamic than the first.

Tararam at "Sortie" – Turkey's largest night club

Throughout the year, Tararam performed at dozens of product launches and opening ceremonies among of which was the opening of Turkey's largest and most famous night club in Istanbul – "The Sortie". The group played throughout the evening in the club before the ecstatic party goers and for the finale performed on a bright orange Volkswagen beetle that was brought in by a crane into the club.

"Burn" – Promotional Tour

The Tararam Group was chosen to promote Coca Cola's new energy drink "Burn" this past summer in Turkey. The group traveled throughout the country performing in various resorts, clubs, beaches and hot spots all summer.

2007 Maccabiah Games

On Aug.5th Tararam opened the 2007 United States Maccabiah Athletic Games in Houston, Texas at the Toyota Stadium with a bang. On stage, the 10 stage performers put on an outstanding show before an ecstatic crowd of 8000 athletes from around the world and their families. The reviews were fabulous and the experience, unforgettable.

Television Performances

Tararam participated in numerous live high profile television events such as the finale segment of Uri Geller's "The Heir", The Annual IDF Telethon, Power TV Music Awards Ceremony in Istanbul, Turkey and a number of auditions for Tararam's Children's show: "Tararam Kidz" on the Israeli Children's network.

Mega Events

Tararam had the honor this year to perform before audiences of young and vibrant Jewish Youth between the ages of 18 – 26 at the three largest Mega Events of 2007. Tens of thousands of young adults participated from all over the world in "Massa", "The March of the Living" and "Taglit – Birthright Israel". For these events, Tararam performed fantastic new items that included 2 drummers in mid air performing on an enormous 'Kodo' drum as seen in the picture.

International Performances

In addition to the group's numerous performances in Israel, in 2007, Tararam performed at many high profile events in England, Russia, Turkey, Greece, United States and Spain.

Tararam performs in Baku, Azerbaijain.

The Tararam Group has recently returned from a series of successful performances at the Heyder Aliev Palace in Baku, Azerbaijain. Present at the concerts were a number of Azerbaijain Parliament Ministers, The Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijain and a number of prominent members of the local and Jewish Community.

Following the performances, The Ambassador hosted a reception at his private home where he thanked the group for their participation and said: "Tararam's performance of "Extazira" here in Baku did more towards the reputation of Israel and the warm relations between the countries in one hour than we at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are able to do in a year... the concerts were fantastic!"

"Tararam" is now for kids as well !!!

"Tararam KidZ" is a new musical for children between the ages of 4 and 12 which incorporates original songs, tap dancing, body drumming, movement and dance. The musical is based on a story written by Avi Rosenblum and directed by the creator, Doron Raphaeli.

"Tararam KidZ" takes place in a colorful junkyard bursting with surprises, where a gang of young, energetic and talented children spends their free time singing, drumming on "junk" and dancing.

Participants: Itai Polishuk, Yair Tzabari, Efrat Dor Oknin, Stav Nahum and Matan Shveiky.

The show is innovative and refreshing, be sure not to miss it!

Tararam performs in front of 20 thousand people in Bogota, Colombia.

On Aug. 15th 2005, Tararam put on their biggest performance ever at The Simon Bolivar Park in Bogota Colombia.

Among the 20 thousand people in the audience were The Israeli Ambassador to Colombia and his wife, the Mayor of the city of Bogota and the founder and chairwoman of the Colombian National Theatre Ms. Fanny Mickey.

The group’s two additional performances at the National Theatre were sold out weeks in advance. The entire tour was a great success and the group is currently working on their next tour to South America.
